The national competition, sponsored by the American Public Power Association, recognized 43 public utilities across the country for their work in creative communications by public power utilities in their communities. Winners were announced at the annual customer Connections Conference held in Orlando Florida Nov. 4-7, 2018.
In the print category, Beaches Energy received the Award of Merit for its 2018 Tidings newsletters. In 2018, Beaches Energy worked with Shepherd, a local advertising agency, to reimagine the Tidings newsletter.
The monthly newsletter provides customers with articles, engaging visuals and diagrams on energy-saving resources, seasonal news, special needs programs, natural gas safety, infrastructure improvements and contests. The 2018 series placed special emphasis on readability and capturing interest — using bright designs, infographics and imagery to engage and educate customers.
